A 220 kW pump-motor-aggregat drives agricultural efficiency in the heart of Sivas
In the rural village of Yarhisar, located in the Hafik district of Sivas, Turkey, a large-scale irrigation project was launched to support local potato farming.
Drawing from the powerful Kızılırmak River, Türkiye’s longest river, the initiative aimed to improve agricultural output by ensuring a reliable and consistent water supply to expansive potato fields.
To meet the demand for high-capacity, low-maintenance, and efficient water delivery, the team turned to Franklin Electric for a proven, high-performance solution.
Faced with harsh terrain, hard-to-access rural land, and the need for uninterrupted irrigation, the project team needed a system capable of both high flow and long-term reliability.
The solution was a floating pump system powered by a Franklin Electric 12" 220 kW submersible motor, paired with a 12" VSI Stainless Steel Cast submersible pump 454/03I/1C.
This configuration delivers up to 650 m³/h, enabling efficient water extraction even in difficult riverbank conditions.
To ensure durability and continuous operation, a stable floating platform was designed and installed using empty barrels combined with a robust wooden frame.
